For every litre of diesel burned, 2.63 kgs of carbon is released into the atmosphere. If a diesel - driven refrigeration system uses 4 litres per hour and operates for 2, 500 hours per year, a total of 26,300 Kgs will be released into the atmosphere. This could be saved using ecoFridge.

Operators who specify ecoFridge can quantify the reductions they achieve in harmful emissions and energy use in order to make a real and measurable impact on their own targets. While estimating the overall energy consumption in the ‘well to wheel’ process – from extraction to consumption, it was demonstrated that when comparing liquid nitrogen systems with diesel driven systems emissions are reduced by a factor of 4.
