In this era of technological advancement and environmental challenges, Kingtec Temperature Solutions is proud to announce the arrival of ecoFridge, the first eco-friendly, nitrogen based refrigeration transport system in the South African market. The system was unveiled at the Diemersdal Wine Estate in the Western Cape in front of the South African Department of Transport, selected guests from within the temperature controlled logistics industry and prospective users such as Pick ‘n’ Pay, Freshmark / Shoprite Checkers, Woolworths / Fast and Fresh, Unitrans and Vector Logistics. To mark the occasion, the owner and trucking entrepreneur of Kingtec Temperature Solutions, Mr. Sakkie Liebenberg, together with Mr. Liam Olliff, Sales & Marketing Director of ecoFridge, announced prolific pre-sales of ecoFridge units to Pick ‘n’ Pay and Woolworths, two of the first retailers in South Africa to review their environmental and economic responsibility for a sustainable future. Shoprite Checkers, Spar, Unitrans and Vector Logistics are negotiating units to introduce into their distribution fleets. This remarkable innovation will drastically reduce carbon emissions across the transport and logistics industry, bringing South Africa in line with the global environmental initiatives. Users of this system will be able to apply for a cash credit from the European Union (Carbon Credits). ecoFridge is the first transport refrigeration system to operate in complete silence with no moving parts, no harmful emissions and absolutely no noise. The biggest advantage by far will be a dramatic reduction in total life cycle cost, involving capital maintenance and operating/energy costs (fuel & electricity). The system provides more operating benefits than a diesel unit and costs up to 30% less to run. The system can achieve pull-down to set temperature 70-80% faster and it is virtually maintenance free. ecoFridge has been fully ATP certified and has no operational safety restrictions. Many food transporters around the globe are already looking to ecoFridge as the only viable transport cooling system which can combat high fuel costs, noise and carbon emissions. |
