NEW ALLIANCE PROVIDES ECO-FRIENDLY TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED TRANSPORT
ecoFridge the global manufacturer of silent running – emission free nitrogen powered transport refrigeration systems, has signed Transfrig to be the new distributor for its products in South Africa.

Transfrig who’s head office and assembly plant are based in Linbro Park Johannesburg with sales offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban will have exclusive responsibility for the sales, installation and aftermarket support of ecoFridge systems. With over 25 years of successful manufacturing and supply of its own transport refrigeration systems and with 21 dealers in the network, Transfrig is well positioned to serve the South African temperature controlled transport sector.

ecoFridge arrived in South Africa during 2009 and already has stimulated great interest among supermarkets, food producers and perishable goods transporters. The unique operational benefits of ecoFridge,  including rapid temperature pull down, silent running, low maintenance and low cost of operation coupled with zero carbon emissions make the system a natural choice both from a commercial and environmental standpoint.

Transfrig Managing Director Peter Solomon is upbeat about the new partnership:
“ecoFridge provides a perfect solution for truck and trailer temperature controlled transport and is highly effective both for mono and multi temperature configurations. The system is remarkably simple to operate, safe, economical and of course friendly to the environment – typically one ecoFridge system can save around 25 tonnes of carbon per trailer per year.”

“I am delighted”, Peter adds, “to have formed this partnership with ecoFridge and confident that a cross section of businesses in South Africa will benefit greatly from this simple but innovative technology. We have our own demonstration system and will be delighted to make this available at any time.”

ecoFridge CEO Tom Roller added: “ecoFridge is experiencing burgeoning orders globally. Partnering with industry leaders in key markets, like Transfrig in South Africa, whose commercial profile fits with our own, has accelerated demand. We look forward to a long and mutually successful alliance with Transfrig in the very important South African market"
